Hi Folks!! I'm finally back from my long long break!! Beginning the year with a Daring Bakers Challenge!! And what a wonderful recipe Audax has selected. I have made Scones/Biscuits in the past. But I always felt that most recipes I encountered asked for way too much butter!! Also substituting the butter with something else led to fairly disappointing results.
Audax's recipe is very well balanced and the results turn out perfect each time. I made the original batch by following the recipe. But the second batch was half whole wheat, half all purpose flour. They came out really well. All I can say is that this challenge was a wonderful way to begin the Daring Bakers year, and I will be using this recipe often!!
